Rusty Fox

This is Rusty Fox. He was my dog for 17 years until he died of cancer a few years ago. Having to put him to sleep was probably the hardest and most painful thing I've ever had to do. I still miss him. I Invite all owners of cats and dogs to post their pictures here to honor the love and comfort they provide. Please send a photo and brief narrative and we'll post it here for everyone to see and enjoy.

Mufassa and Mimi

My cat Mufassa is one of the sweetest, gentlest cats I’ve ever known. He is a big cat weighing in at 24 pounds. I rescued him from the shelter in Burbank in 1995. I couldn’t resist his big blue eyes. My husband Joe, who has since passed away, used to call him “my boy” as if he were a baby. He is such a nice cat; he lets my other cat eat first, even when he is hungry.

Steve and Lucy

DOGLESS IN EL SEGUNDO
This was my part-sheep dog best buddy for years, Lucy. When I lived in Pennsylvania, I took her running with me every day, to the store, and for rides in my Fiat X1/9 convertible sports car (Hey, dogs are speed freaks!!).

I know her well enough to tell that she is a little puzzled in this picture. We were trying to get her to sit still for the picture, but she couldn’t figure out why she couldn’t come over to my friend taking the picture and be her usual demonstrative, affectionate self. I had to run her around the block to get her a little tired before she would sit.

One of my big mistakes was leaving her behind when I moved to La Land years ago for a big aerospace job. When I get a home, I’m going to get a puppy, Lucy 2, which will turn into a cute friendly fuzz ball like her namesake. ‘Till then, I play with the dogs at the FBO where I rent my airplane and say Hi to my neighbors’ dogs when I run into them.
